I would like to take a moment to thank all of the individuals who were able to make it to last night's volunteers meeting. If you were unable to attend, don't despair, we can still use your help. We are always looking for truck drivers, chaperones, cooks and cheerleaders. I have secured an additional 5 passes for the shows and any remaining tickets can be split amongst all of the chaperones so no one individual is paying full price for a ticket. I also hope you enjoyed the "mini" performance that the students gave at the end. This season is shaping up to be something really special and we look forward to having everyone be a part of it. It can't be done without all of the hard work of the students, staff and especially our volunteers. Thanks in advance! |

You will be able to post comments, pictures, videos etc. Also check out the event section where there is a posting for the Salem (NH) winter percussion friends & family night. Please pass this information along to all, so that you can have as many people at your performance as possible. |

I just wanted to remind everyone that the winter percussion finals are being held this year on Saturday, April 3, 2010 in Dartmouth, MA. This just so happens to be the day before Easter and I wanted to give everyone advance notice so as to be able to coordinate their schedules. Tentatively, the students are scheduled to perform at 3:30pm with the show to end around 6:30pm. Arrival time back in Salem will be roughly 8:30pm and the student's will be released at approximately 9:30pm or whenever the truck is finished being unloaded. |

On behalf of the entire Salem High School percussion department, I would like to than Mike Miller and Salem Boy Scout troop 159 for their generous contribution of a new timpani cart to the percussion program. As part of Mike's Eagle Scout program, he ran three fundraisers to help purchase a new timpani cart which the program sorely needed. The cart arrived on Friday and yesterday, Mike and some of his fellow scouts assembled the cart, put the timpani on the cart and strapped them down. It's great to see a group of young men coming together to aid others! Thanks again Mike and Salem Boy Scout troop 159. |
